Being in the Moment – with Patricia Ryan Madson
Patricia Ryan Madson is a Professor Emerita at Stanford University, where she has taught improvisation since 1977. She currently works as a professional speaker and consultant to corporations, local governments, and educational institutions on how to use improv to be more spontaneous, learn to trust yourself and your ideas, and to live more in the moment. She is the author of the book “Improv Wisdom: Don’t Prepare, Just Show Up.”
In this interview Patricia talks to us about how to use the maxims of improv to live a happy, creative, and fulfilling life. She explains that too many of us live in our heads, in anticipation and fear of things that will never happen. As an alternative, she gives us a guide to how we can have more faith in ourselves and our abilities, and use life’s opportunities to create amazing moments and an incredible life of freedom and possibilities.
